Captain's Welcome

Richard Avery - Club Captain

Dear Friends, Members, Guests, and Visitors,

It is my great pleasure to extend a heartfelt welcome to each and every one of you as we embark on another exciting chapter at Kirton Home Golf Club. Whether you are a long-standing member, a first-time guest, or a visitor exploring our club for the very first time, you are warmly invited to enjoy all that our community has to offer.

Kirton Home Golf Club has long been recognised for its friendliness and inclusive spirit. Our reputation as a club where everyone feels at home is something we cherish deeply. Here, you’ll find not just a beautiful golf course, but a community united by a shared love of the game and a genuine respect for one another.

It is a tremendous honour to serve as your Club Captain for 2026. I am both proud and humbled to represent such a vibrant and welcoming club. From the moment you arrive, you’ll notice the inviting atmosphere throughout our course and clubhouse - a place where encouragement and camaraderie are always in abundance.

As we look ahead to the coming season, I encourage all members and visitors to get involved - whether by joining in our competitions, taking part in club activities, or simply enjoying a round of golf with friends old and new. Participation is at the very heart of our club’s spirit, and every contribution helps strengthen the bonds that make Kirton Home Golf Club so special.

Let us continue to support one another, celebrate our successes, and foster the friendly environment that sets our club apart. I am confident that, together, we will make the 2026 season both memorable and enjoyable for all.

Wishing you all a fantastic year filled with good golf, great company, and lasting friendships.

Warmest regards,
Richard Avery
Club Captain

Julie Brereton - Lady Captain

I’m Julie and I have the honour of being Lady Captain 2026 here at Kirton Holme Golf Club.

I started playing golf with my husband around 20 years ago, he was already a seasoned golfer but he painstakingly took me under his wing and patiently helped me progress to a level where I felt confident to join a golf club.

We have been members here for about three years and we were instantly made to feel welcome by all sections of the club.
We have around 50 lady members with 35 who play regularly on a Tuesday morning and we also have social members who pop in for a coffee and a chat or some lunch with old friends.

Our section has a wide range of standards of golf from ladies just learning to play the game to ladies that have been playing for forty years or more. All levels are nurtured and made to feel welcome whatever their ability.

We have a league team and also we play several friendly games throughout the year with other local teams. Some of our ladies only want to play 9 holes then have lunch and we embrace this as much as the ladies who play 18 holes several times a week.

We have lots of social events and golf matches throughout the year with the Men’s Section and the Seniors Section and these are always looked forward to by all.

If you would like to come for a chat and a coffee with maybe the idea of joining us you would be made more than welcome by owners Kellie and Jason and their team and of course myself.

Happy Golfing Year!
