Welcome to Kirton Holme Golf Club. I am honoured to introduce myself as Club Captain for 2024. I would like to say a massive thank you to last year’s Club Captain, Mark Hope and Lady Captain, Anthea Hall who did a fantastic job representing the Club not only within the Club but also on their travels to other clubs. I can only hope myself and Ronnie Thorogood will continue to represent the Club in the same way as they have done.
If you are considering playing a round at our great Club I can guarantee you won’t be disappointed and you will soon return. Kirton Holme is a Club renowned for its warm and friendly welcome and in the winter months seldom closes. Kellie and her team in the Clubhouse make everyone feel welcome whether you are a member or a visitor or just someone wanting tea and cake.
We support a charity every year and this year we will continue to support the Butterfly Hospice in Boston and the Lincs Air Ambulance. These great charities rely on support from Clubs like ourselves. I know everyone at our Club will support us in raising as much as possible for these fantastic and vital charities.
For anyone considering joining Kirton Holme, I would like to say don’t hesitate and you won’t regret it. I first joined the club in 1992 at the inception of the Club and the atmosphere and friendliness was a good then as it is now. The course has matured and been nurtured on in leaps and bounds by Jason and his team. There are various competitions and knockouts for members to compete in plus all of the various Opens for 2024.
All that’s left to say is have a happy and healthy new year, oh and some great golf in 2024. I hope to see you all at the Club throughout the year.
It’s a great honour to be Lady Captain of this unique and special club. No matter where you have come from, whatever walk of life, you will be guaranteed the warmest of welcomes at our inclusive, hospitable club.
I started playing golf in 2019 through a series of lessons from our pro Jason and here I am playing matches for the league teams being fortunate enough to represent our club in many national competitions and travelled all over the country to play.
As a ladies section we have certainly put Kirton Holme on the map, known for our warm welcome and competitive spirit we have put our mark on the county as we go around playing in Am Am’s and county fixtures - there’s no limit to what we will do for a lovely game of golf. Other teams look forward to visiting us to sample our food as well as our fabulous course.
If you are thinking of starting golf or just like to play socially we are club to nurture you. It’s true to say that there is nowhere quite like it. The atmosphere is one of a large family where you can turn up on your own and feel included.
If you’re a competitive golfer, you’ll have more than enough to stretch and improve your game, there’s extensive opportunities for mixed, league matches and fun competitions, in fact I don’t know how we fit it all in.
Our thriving ladies section play every Tuesday, come down and meet us for a coffee I’d love to welcome you along with my vice captain Jane.
