Captain's Welcome

Jason Smith - Club Captain

I write this welcome to you all as the new Kirton Holme 2025 Club Captain which gives me great honour in saying.

Last year’s Club Captain Kev Traves and Ladies Captain Ronnie Thorogood have had a fabulous 2024 representing our club both home and away and like all past Captains we would like to thank them for their commitment to our club and members.

What do I say about Kirton Holme Golf Club that may not know already? We are a very welcoming club with all Captains, Members, Owners and their staff happy to help and ensure your visit is a memorable one.

Our food, particularly our breakfast, is known as the best in the county by all that have it and there is a wide variety of choice for the hungry player either before golf or after your round.

Our course is well maintained all year round and with pretty good drainage we rarely close over the winter months bringing members from other clubs to play our course.

If you are thinking about becoming a member this is the club for you with a full and varied calendar of events through the year to suit all type of players from high handicaps to low.

We are very proud to have many teams in which you can join, our Rabbits team for the higher handicap players, which is also a mixed team, and I can say from personal experience is a great non competitive round against other clubs, I do say non competitive with a smile on my face as all competitions are competitive.

We also have the seniors’ section for Gents over the age of 55 with the seniors playing every Wednesday and they have a competitive team.
We then have a B Team group who play competitive matches in the South Lincs League generally players from 18 handicap through to 12, we then have our A team who are in the scratch South Lincs League.

Our strong ladies section meets and play every Tuesday, and they have friendly and League matches throughout the year.
I have been a member at the club since 2017 and can honestly say I will not join anywhere else. With the stresses of work and life in general this is the club to come and enjoy your golf, relax have a drink and some food.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate in contacting us to give you any more information you need, and I hope to see you on the course soon.

Your sincerely
Jason Smith

Jane Moss - Ladies Captain

Having always been sporty, I had a serious accident in 2018 and so found myself towards the end of 2019 thinking about learning to play golf. I joined Jason (our pro) in his series of Ladies Group Lessons, and I was hooked! I constantly thank my lucky stars that I found Kirton Holme Golf Club, which is now a huge part of my life, and where I feel it is an honour and privilege to be Lady Captain for 2025.

Through the golf club I’ve gone from absolute beginner to a level where I can play confidently at any club. I’ve played in matches both friendly and competitive, laughed a lot and made life-long friends. Kirton Holme may be a small golf club, but the ladies section is flourishing.

We meet as a group each Tuesday and everyone is welcomed. We play a mixture of competitions and fun events, we enter national competitions, play at home at KH but also on visits to other clubs. As a section we punch above our weight competitively but always remember that golf is a game to be enjoyed.
The age of our members ranges from those in their 20’s to 90’s and we accommodate working women positively. Of course there are mixed opportunities too, both social and golf based. Socially, activities are too numerous to list but usually involve food and drink! As a club we are renowned for our hospitality and the superb quality of the food produced by Kellie and her staff.

Kirton Holme can best be described as a welcoming, family-centred golf club. Pop in, play a round or just eat and drink with us. My vice-captain Julie or I will always try to welcome you to our friendly club.
